Cara Rule

Head of Curriculum

 

Cara studied at Barking and Dagenham College and qualified as a Sailing Instructor in 1990. She went on to teach in the field of Outdoor Education and Personal Developent, working with groups of young people and adults.


After this she specialised in working with adults with learning difficulties and worked for Newham Social Services for eight years. She became a Senior Community Officer and managed a team of staff to design and implement a new Community Focused Service provision. She was instrumental in setting up the first Community Based Day Service in Newham.


Cara became a volunteer for the Youth at Risk Coaching for Communities Programme in Essex in 1999, shortly afterwards she became the Project Manager and look after the project to completion, working with 15 young people and volunteers. She then trained as Enrolment Manager living and working in diverse communities throughout the UK, enrolling volunteers and young people onto Youth at Risk programmes.


Cara became a full-time trainer for Youth at Risk in 2003 and has delivered training to both young people and adults. In 2010 she led five residential courses as part of the Community Transformation Programme and became a qualified Assistant Course Leade.

Cara is currently Head of Curriculum for Youth at Risk, working closely with the Head of Operations and the Curriculum Director to design, implement and monitor the quality of our training programmes/events and the training team.

Our training team is comprised of a highly experienced, diverse and committed group of individuals. They are based across the UK and overseas and have dedicated many years to the organisation and their training path to continue to enhance and expand the work Youth at Risk deliver.
