"I didn't want to come to school; I wore hardly any of the right uniform. I did not work in lessons and I was very destructive. I was expecting to get Ds, Es and Fs in all my GCSEs. Now I attend school and listen to the teachers. Pretty well the opposite of the way I used to be. I'm taking 11 GCSEs and I am expected to get 8 A-Cs, hopefully including a couple of As.

Having a coach really helps because it's someone you can give your opinions to and you can look and see what you've achieved since you last met up with them. When I look back, it seems like it couldn't have been me before"
