Community Transformation Programme
Young people are the future of our communities. That’s why Youth at Risk is joining forces with local authorities across the UK to run a series of major community transformation programmes, aimed at enabling disaffected and alienated young people to turn their lives around and build a positive future for themselves, so benefiting the wider community.
The aims of the programmes are:
- To help raise engagement amongst the community
- Impact individuals aspirations and involvement
- Improve young people’s educational achievement and engagement with training and employment and decrease anti-social behaviour
- Establish community based and led projects to enhance the experience of living in / being part of or serving that community
Each programme will utilise a range of Youth at Risk’s existing schemes to support the community in its transformation.
Volunteering opportunities:
There are a number of roles that we need volunteers to perform :
- Being a young person's committed partner
- Being a young person's performance coach
- Supporting the running of the 'residential' training courses
