Community Transformation Programme
Between 2009 and 2011 we delivered the Community Transformation Programmes across the United Kingdom.
Founded on our proven transformation model each programme has locally agreed targets for improving outcomes for the most alienated and marginalised young people aged 14-19, enabling them to recognise and fulfil their potential to build a worthwhile future and in so doing, benefit not just themselves, but their community.
The young people on these programmes included those who have been excluded from or opted out of education, are engaged in anti-social behaviour, are unemployed, are in or in danger of entering the criminal justice system , are misusing drugs and alcohol, are involved in gangs and are young parents.
The programmes constituted a series of bespoke training and coaching activities that combined to create an environment, process, delivery and support structure for enabling change in these young people’s lives.
Participants undertook a series of intensive personal development training events, including an intensive 5-day residential course, a programme of personal performance coaching and a sustained period of mentoring support to help them implement change in their lives and access and take full advantage of the education, training and employment services available to them.
These programmes did not simply work with the young people, but also with professionals from a range of the local youth services, both statutory and voluntary, voluntary organisations, stakeholders, local business, parents, carers, family networks, in fact the whole community.
