Communities

'Coaching for Communities' programmes are specifically tailored to support the most alienated and angry young people on the very margins of society.

They behave the way they do because of a deep-rooted feeling that they are worthless. They lack confidence, self-esteem and motivation.

A CfC programme presents them with the opportunity, usually the first, to fully express and unburden themselves. Carefully structured to enable and empower them to undergo a fundamental change the programme commences with an intensive and challenging 5-7 day residential workshop.

In an environment of trust, care and appreciation participants confront the problems of their past and the current issues in their lives. The days are long and tough and the process emotionally demanding - but they come to realise that their future could be dramatically different and begin to define ways to improve their lives. At the end of the workshop participants set themselves three main life goals related to their commitment to change.

Now the hardest part of the programme begins. Participants must implement change in their lives and avoid the old habits and mistakes. They are not alone. They continue to receive further personal development and life skills training and are supported by one-to-one life coaches in accessing the education, training and employment services and in sticking at it when the going gets tough.
