76% of young offenders released from custody are re-convicted and return to prison within two years.

Youth at Risk is passionate about increasing the levels of personal responsibility of young inmates to decrease the likelihood of recidivism.

'C
oaching for Release' is designed specifically for those in Young Offender Institutions. It aims to enable them to realise that they are responsible for the mistakes they have made and for their future actions, whilst increasing their ability to see possibilities in their future lives and make more empowered choices.

T
he initial aim is to improve their behaviour whilst in prison and increase their compliance with sentence plans, thence on release to increase their utilisation of support mechanisms such as social, probation, employment and housing services.

Recently we have also turned our attention to the profesional development of prison staff to enable them to more fully engage with young offenders and to be part of the transformational process.
