Education
Many pupils end up feeling education is a waste of time. They truant, misbehave, are excluded from school, underachieve or simply do not achieve at all.
'Coaching for Success' has been designed to improve both academic and non-academic achievement of 14 -16 year olds.
They become involved in a year long programme which helps them develop an understanding of who they are; why they are who they are - and who and what they could be.
Participants undertake an initial intensive training programme, the aim of which is to enable them to realise that they are responsible for the choices they make - and what will follow if they don't make the right ones. At the conclusion they set themselves some educational goals and are supported in achieving these over the balance of the academic year by volunteer performance coaches.
More recently we have extended our work in this area to some of the issues facing young people entering higher education.
